Volvo CV Joint

At times, perfection seems too unyielding, too demanding and trying to achieve it seems next to impossible, especially when it has to do with copping a reliable online source for Volvo constant velocity joints or Volvo C.V. joints, if you have no wish to strain yourself—or tongue—any further than you have to.

What’s a Volvo cv joint, you may ask? Well, it’s an auto component that your Volvo has—not necessarily confined to Volvo models but to vehicles that employ front-wheel drive systems. It’s a part of the steering and suspension assembly so I guess you could already glean a bit of info from that. Interestingly enough, your Volvo cv joint is one flexible automotive creature since it can channel power from a variable point without dropping or increasing in speed. Hence, the name constant velocity joints—which are quite fitting actually.

This is to say then that depending on whatever is needed at the moment, c.v. joints can transmit power either to an axle from a transaxle or from an axle to a wheel. Such flexible arrangements do exist and make your life and that of your car’s way easier since it allows engine movements to happen with ease.

A Bit of Look-see on a Volvo Control Arm

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Nasty bumps won’t have to be in your list of daily aggravations if your suspension system components are all working away like they should: efficiently as well as effectively. But if things are not turning out like this, then perhaps you had better get down from that seat and look over to inspect your suspension components. Don’t be quick about it, be thorough. With a couple of things in there, it’s easy enough to miss out on a few essential parts to consider.

Take the Volvo control arm for one. I’ll bet a goodly amount that you pretty much don’t have any idea on what this is or what it does precisely. Well, you and a great number of typical car owners have that in common.

That piece, that Volvo Control Arm, is a part of the suspension system that hooks up a knuckle or a wheel flange to the frame of your vehicle. That said, the primary function of a Volvo Control Arm is basically that of a pivoting mechanism. The pivoting action it effects, of course, is done for a purpose: the deed lessens the vibrations the car normally encounters the moment it goes on the road.

Volvo 240 Parts

Volvo’s 240 Series was launched to the public in 1974, alongside the 260 Series. The Volvo 240 Series held six variations under its name—the 242L, 242DL, 244DL, 244GL, and 245DL. In matters of appearance, it seemed that the 240 Series and 260 Series exhibited no particular departures from the 140 and 164 Series. Vehicle platforms showed no noticeable change from the bulkhead to the rear end. Only when eyes strayed to the frond end did it become possible for anyone to make the 240 vehicles out since this is where the 240 was finally able to set itself apart from the others.

But the true innovation that the 240 brought to consumers was the integration of notable safety features into Volvo cars, improvements that they gleaned from the results of the Volvo Experimental Safety Car they conducted back in 1972.
