Volvo
Volvo has recently been granted by North America as the best in the automotive parts distribution network in the U.S.. Carlisle & Company made a detailed survey of Parts Managers that reached more than 14,000. The total count represented 19 car brands all across the country. After meticulous information gathering, it was determined that Volvo was the top performing company in the entire lot.
“Being selected as top performer has been one of our long term objectives, actually since 1992.” This statement was released by Robert Deutsch, who is the North American Parts Manager for VCNA. He even expounds on the matter further by saying that “We started with a rather good system and have systematically improved it over the years. Today our total service parts network is focused on delivering the right part, at the right time, every time … we strive for perfection.”
“Service Parts Supply Chain Fulfillment” is the title of the award. Achievement of the award has served to reinforce Volvo’s commitment to inducing consumer contentment to the public. Volvo has been quite vocal, after all, in its insistence to provide consumers with cars that not only perform extraordinarily well, the company has also cultivated a passion for cars that have put consumer comfort and safety in the driver’s seat. A considerable number of Volvo cars that we have today are packed with a run of safety features that cater to particular needs and demands, making Swedish auto parts maker and car manufacturer, Volvo, one of the few cars in the market that incorporate the human element to an astonishing degree into their car products. This consumer-centered perspective has made its leap into the way Volvo distributors handle transaction s for Volvo cars and Volvo auto parts.
Deutsch says that “Today, the new car sales experience is just the first touch for customers visiting Volvo retailers. Ownership expectations, and of course meeting those demands, are key to having repeat new car sales. Our whole parts organization should take credit for this achievement. Without a collective effort and holding to our long standing objective of end service to the customer, this award would not have been possible.”
Meanwhile, in London, Volvo Car Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden, was also given recognition as one of the top three Best Practice Leaders for the Global Supply Chain Fulfillment. There were twenty nine companies, involved in fields of automotive agriculture as well as constructive equipment. Of all these, Volvo was “the only automotive manufacturer to be recognized for superior total Parts distribution processes” shares Deutsch. “Our global approach is based on Volvo Cars, Sweden’s unique approach of handling functions that best done centrally and of allowing in-country markets to be a local extension of the total logistics system. We have an extremely good supply structure that is both global and local at the same time.”
This is no surprise, of course, since Volvo has been in the business of keeping people and the environment safe for nearly a whole decade now. This has continued well into nearly all the current Volvo car models. The 2007 model queue of Volvo cars, for instance, has the S40 known for its sturdy Volvo S40 parts, the V50 with Volvo V50 parts as the wagon version of the S40 along with the Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC90 parts. The Volvo S60 sedan, Volvo V70, and Volvo C70 are also included in the list. Volvo S60 parts, Volvo V70 parts and Volvo C70 parts, in turn, are expected to have started arriving into the market already.
