Volvo’s smallest car in its model range, the sporty Volvo C30 has finally been launched during an outdoor event at the Valletta Waterfront last Wednesday.

“The compact format has not prevented Volvo from integrating much of what is best in the larger Volvo cars,” David Gasan, Gasan Enterprises managing director has said in an interview.

The Volvo C30 is described to be “nimble”, even in limited space. Otherwise, it is still built according to the same principles as the other Volvo cars. It also offers comfortable and flexible interior space, with a big-car feel and place for four adults, as Volvo says.

The Volvo C30 includes a BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) in order for the drivers to make it easier to detect other vehicles in the blind spot of the car through the use of the cameras mounted in the side door mirrors. Aside from this, the C30 is well-armed with the high-quality Volvo auto parts assembly.

The C30 utilizes the S40 T5’s powertrain—a 2.5-liter 218-horsepower turbocharged inline-5 and a six-speed manual while a five-speed automatic will be optional, and front Volvo struts/rear multi-link suspension, which has been firmed up with stiffer springs and dampers.

The C30 is capable of 0 to 60 mph in a brisk 6.2 seconds, according to Volvo, with the quarter-mile coming in under 15 seconds at around 95 mph. While the C30 does not suffer from turbo lag, a balky shifter, or a flimsy structure. Notably, the duration from throttle tip-in to full boost is minimal. For those who want a piece of the new C30, they are now available at Volvo auto houses.
