Volvo

Volvo, the leading supplier of well-known Swedish cars today has made it sure that if BMW were not going to acquire them, then they are allowed to be their competitors. Volvo is actually shaking up the lowest two rungs on its sedan line to put more space between them, and to better compete with the 3 Series.

With high-quality Volvo auto parts and their partners in the aftermarket such as the Bilstein Shocks, Volvo has been able to craft good cars that perform well on the road and in the market. Due to this rising challenge of Volvo to BMW, they have decided to make their smallest sedan, the S40, into a 5-door hatchback along the likes of the A3 and the BMW 1-Series. Reports have also said that the name S40 may be slashed off and changed into the name V40. On the other hand, the S60 will get a good overhaul of its Volvo auto parts, getting a longer wheelbase, a more interesting interior, shared tech from the S80 and the Mondeo, and the chassis will outdo the 3 Series dynamics.

This redesign will also include a three-section front bumper which is actually the new attraction for this car. About the car’s sporting aspirations, the Volvo engineers were said to have been asking their accountants to fund a design that has a more sporting chassis that is sturdy enough to hold Land Rover Parts. The Volvo engine parts for the S60 have undergone an upgrade to a 2-liter and 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder diesels as well as the 2-liter gas turbo.

It has also been reported that the Volvo logo will be altered as well, this time losing the diagonal bar that spans the Volvo grille. The new logo will be a circle and an arrow which is the stylization of the chemical symbol for iron, was said to remain. These changes were said to take place by 2009.
