The BLIS is the Blind Spot Information System, a sensor that can accurately detect another vehicle that comes in the offset rear blind spot. The data that is fed by the sensor will activate a visual signal that alerts the driver. This greatly helps since the driver’s focus on the road keeps his sight limited to all the other elements on the road that even the mirrors can not see. The IDIS is the Intelligent Driver Information System, or a system that prevents the driver from being distracted with things like phone calls and text messages.

On the other hand, the PCC or the Personal Car Communicator is an advanced control center that could be fitted inside a pocket. Upon touching a button, the car driver will be able to find out if the car doors are locked or unlocked, if the alarm has been activated, or set off. This control center uses the latest remote smart key technology and a highly sensitive heartbeat sensor—which is a first time in history—to detect if any intruder is present in the car. Keyless entry and keyless drive features come in to complete the smart package of the S80.

But we are not done with the acronyms yet. The IAQS or the Interior Air Quality System is the component that effectively reduces the amount of particles, pollen, gases, and other unpleasant odors in the air that the passengers could take in. All of the car’s interiors including the leather are guaranteed to be free from any allergenic and hazardous substances.

The impressive beauty of the Volvo S80 comes complete with all the right features. It actually as more ABC’s for you Volvo guys to find out and dream about, such as the Four-C or the Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept, the CZIP or the Clean Zone Interior Package, and more. But fret not, for these letters all spell that the Volvo S80 is the best drive for you. In fact, Volvo Car Malaysia will be offering the S80 in two versions—one is powered by the 2.5T five-cylinder engine with light pressure turbo that puts out 147kW (200hp); and the other is equipped with a normally aspirated, inline six-cylinder 3.2l that generates 175kW (238hp).
