The Swedish automaker Volvo is proud to present its Volvo XC70, a highly practical sports utility vehicle that’s perfect for off-road adventures complete with an excellent cabin for a comfortable drive.

The Volvo XC70 also has powerful specs from the Volvo auto parts under its hood with its standard 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder engine producing 235 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. To control this power engine is a six-speed “Geartronic” automatic transmission. This gearbox also allows the driver to shift to manual transmission if he wants to have full control of the vehicle’s speed. For better road grip, Volvo also equipped the XC70 with an all-wheel drive system. The XC70 also sports the new electronic Hill Descent Control (HDC) which optimizes the vehicle’s brakes and engine torque to crawl in bottom gear when the vehicle is on steep downhill slopes.

In addition to that, the new Volvo XC70 is equipped with a soft suspension system which provides the passengers with a very comfortable drive. There’s also an extra spring which makes the uneven road surface no match for the Volvo XC70. The other Volvo XC70 parts are the five-cylinder D5 diesel engine or one could also use the alternative engine which is the 2.5T petrol. This alternative engine also has a turbo, making the XC70 torquey for a petrol vehicle.

The Volvo XC70 also experienced a facelift as it has been designed to be a quasi-off-road version of the V70 Estate with improved bumpers, increased ride height and Volvo fog light with improved design. It also sports a dark grey cladding on the flasks and silver underbody protectors.

Inside, the XC70 was also given an improved look with a floating center console. Its controls are appropriately placed as they are easy to navigate. The designer of Volvo also made the chrome ventilation buttons to glow green at night. The seats were also made to be supple and really comfortable for a relaxing ride.

Volvo

There have been rumors spreading around that the Volvo S40 sedan has recently been given an expiration date. That is, the Volvo S40 with quality Volvo auto parts will remain in the Swedish automaker’s lineup only for three more years and then it’s out.

But Volvo is not taking out the Volvo S40 sedan and its Volvo S40 parts without a back up plan. The Swedish automaker is planning on making the V50 remain longer if ever it continues on dropping the S40 sedan. The reason for dropping the S40 is that Volvo feels it has no need of three-sedan lineup which are the small-size S40, the mid-size S60, and the large S80, since the S60 and S80 nearly have similar sizes.

Another back up plan of the automaker if the S40 is to be dropped is to produce a vehicle that’s a scaled-down version of the current S60 just so it has a vehicle for the market that the S40 and S60 are under, and leave the high-end market to the S80. But this is not a final plan yet as this is still under careful consideration.

This plan had been backed up Joe Philippi of AutoTrends which is an automotive consulting firm. He said, “Volvo doesn’t need three sedans. The new C30 can serve the purpose of attracting younger, less-affluent buyers than the S40 now does. It costs a lot of money to refresh a car like the S40 every five years, though at Volvo it’s more like six years, and money is very important to Volvo and any eventual partner.”

Hungarian

A comprehensive car survey made in Hungary last year, in 2006, revealed that in average, the Volvo owners in the country are the most satisfied with their vehicles. This is no doubt because of the quality Volvo auto parts such as the Volvo engine parts, Volvo brakes, Volvo exhaust and the like which its cars have been equipped with.

This survey which was made by Auto2 Magazine and TARKI-Data Research had been completed in Spring 2006 but it was only recently that the two companies decided to release the results. The survey was based on completely new brand evaluation aspects. The cars were examined according to motivation, comparison, and satisfaction. The examination of the cars reviewed the whole process starting from the points of views in buying a vehicle, the evaluation of a car, until the aspects of replacing a car.

Aside from those aspects, the survey also involved four basic areas which are technological values, circumstances of driving, expenses, and connecting services. Volvo has scored exceptional in a lot of aspects. Its Volvo auto parts were what made its vehicles score high in reliability, high technological quality, prices, safety, and comfort. Volvo cars also earned the first spot in combination in the absolute category.

Gabor Bodograi, the Managing Director of Volvo Auto Hungary, said, “These surveys are highly important for us, since they provide even more feedback from customers in connection with our models and their satisfaction. We are pleased that Volvo achieved outstanding results also this time, similarly to the 2005 survey of Auto2 Magazine or on the previous surveys of Motor-Presse publisher company.”
