The world’s renowned Swedish carmaker flaunted off its brains at the 2007 SEMA Show. The Volvo auto parts were modified, customized, and innovated to create better Volvo cars. It may only be their fifth year at the Show, but they are readily armed with five rocking cars to commemorate many more years to come. The vehicles include the Volvo XC70, Volvo S80 T6, the C30, a C70 convertible, and one customized Volvo auto parts turned into a hot rod. 2007 is definitely the year that Volvo made a show.
Some of these Volvo cars have all been out in the market and running in the streets before. This is why Volvo decided to give them a little “grooming”, and add some more “broom-brooming”. Here is a little list of what Volvo has prepared at the show:
The Volvo XC70 Surf Rescue is a mid-size SUV that is basically built for those who are always on the go—especially to the shore. Volvo aimed particularly at the lifeguards along the coast of California, who might need to store a lot of beach equipment and get that fast 235 horsepower in case of emergency. It has an amazing 5-inch-lift suspension, giving it the capacity to run even on the rocky side of the town. Plus, its all-wheel-drive system is being electronically run, so that the distribution of power will all be fair and adequate.
Heico Sportiv, a well-known customizing specialist of the Volvo auto parts, spruced up two Volvo cars—the Heico Sportiv S80 T6 Concept, and the Heico Sportiv C30. Everybody has been talking about that metal-glazed S80. This car has been one of the best models that concretize Volvo and Heico’s tandem. With its 7-layered paint scheme, this car is really an eye-catcher even if it is still a kilometer away. It is hooked up with an E85 bioethanol T6 engine, kicking out 350 horsepower on the road. Inside, the interiors are hued with a custom “Mystic Blue”. Meanwhile, the Heico C30 shared the limelight with the S80. It has been modified for the surfers, or those who simply love the beach life. It has been sprinkled beautifully with orange artwork, and its interiors are just as good with that shocking orange twist.
As for the C70, it has been given a new badge. This car is now the Caresto C70, following the footsteps of its predecessor, the Caresto Hot Rod. This convertible runs with 278 horsepower, making it a very ideal ride for that perfect moonlight riding. With its hand-stitched chestnut leather, this car all the more got the romantic and elegant bug. The C70 also received new designs around the Volvo Fog Light, and upgraded exhaust ports. The Caresto Hot Rod, as always, will remain to be a classic. This hand-assembled gunner kicks 311 horsepower from a V8 powerplant. But what is most captivating about it, is that it is able to set itself apart from any other vehicles due to that very distinct Volvo craftsmanship.
Let us find out what Volvo will cook for the 2008 SEMA next year—but as always, it will be good.
