Volvo Is Not For Sale!

For those who want to own the makers of the Volvo auto parts, the opportunity has already passed. People took down the sign that says “For Sale” that is reportedly located in front of Volvo. This is due to the firm statement of Ford’s President and CEO Alan Mullaly, saying that “Volvo is not for sale.”
Ford will be holding on to the Swedish carmaker, because formulating a new “fundamental cost structure” seems to be the best solution, and not selling it. This news brings back the issues regarding the sale of Britain-established carmakers Jaguar and Land Rover. But no, Volvo will not be following suit. Ford will make a new image out of Volvo as the main marketing strategy to sell their cars. They will do this by enhancing Volvo’s position as a global producer of premium vehicles, according to a Ford statement. The makers of the Volvo auto parts will be gauged when the financial results for 2008 comes.
“We will disclose Volvo’s financial performance beginning with 2008 results,” Ford said in a statement.
Since Ford has seen a third quarter net loss of $380 million, selling carmakers seem to be the solution. But as it was cleared, Volvo will not be up anytime soon. So for those who are interested takers, then look out for the next steps of Ford’s next big thing, Volvo.
