The Volvo XC70

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

The Swedish automaker Volvo is proud to present its Volvo XC70, a highly practical sports utility vehicle that’s perfect for off-road adventures complete with an excellent cabin for a comfortable drive.

The Volvo XC70 also has powerful specs from the Volvo auto parts under its hood with its standard 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder engine producing 235 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. To control this power engine is a six-speed “Geartronic” automatic transmission. This gearbox also allows the driver to shift to manual transmission if he wants to have full control of the vehicle’s speed. For better road grip, Volvo also equipped the XC70 with an all-wheel drive system. The XC70 also sports the new electronic Hill Descent Control (HDC) which optimizes the vehicle’s brakes and engine torque to crawl in bottom gear when the vehicle is on steep downhill slopes.

In addition to that, the new Volvo XC70 is equipped with a soft suspension system which provides the passengers with a very comfortable drive. There’s also an extra spring which makes the uneven road surface no match for the Volvo XC70. The other Volvo XC70 parts are the five-cylinder D5 diesel engine or one could also use the alternative engine which is the 2.5T petrol. This alternative engine also has a turbo, making the XC70 torquey for a petrol vehicle.

The Volvo XC70 also experienced a facelift as it has been designed to be a quasi-off-road version of the V70 Estate with improved bumpers, increased ride height and Volvo fog light with improved design. It also sports a dark grey cladding on the flasks and silver underbody protectors.

Inside, the XC70 was also given an improved look with a floating center console. Its controls are appropriately placed as they are easy to navigate. The designer of Volvo also made the chrome ventilation buttons to glow green at night. The seats were also made to be supple and really comfortable for a relaxing ride.
