Saturday, September 1st, 2007The Swedish automaker Volvo said that the redesigned 2008 Volvo XC70 will carry a price tag of $37,520, including a $745 destiantion charge, when it arrives in showrooms in US on the 1st of October. There are a lot of improvements done on the 2008 model year and its Volvo auto parts particularly the first six-cylinder engine, a 3.2-liter inline-6 that is also found in the Volvo S80. It could deliver 235 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 236 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm. That is actually 27 more horsepower than the outgoing turbocharged inline-5. The new engine also has a six-speed manual transmission.
One feature included in the 2008 Volvo XC70 is what Volvo describes as a “world-first,” is their new dual height-adjustable booster cushions for kids. Another features is the first-time standard Hill Descent Control.
Volvo says the U.S. is the largest market for the XC70, with about half the projected annual production of 38,000 coming to North America.
This is actually a great price for the redesigned model considering that there are a lot of improvements and the engine that is included in the package.
