Texan Counselor for Troubled Parents: Up for the Volvo for Life Awards
Friday, November 16th, 2007The voting period is on. This year’s 6th Volvo for Life Awards will change another life as they continue to honor the deserving extraordinary heroes of our time. The voting, which will be held online, is now officially open. This will help the makers of the Volvo auto parts to determine who will win for three categories, and one grand prize awardee. The three categories include: Safety, Quality of Life, and Environment. But one will be named as the hero, with the prize of getting a new Volvo car for every three years of his or her life. The makers of the Volvo auto parts have once again proved their dedication to the people.
Hailing from Texas, a counselor for troubled parents (yes, parents) will prove herself worthy of being named as “America’s Greatest Hometown Hero”. This is another category in the various awards that Volvo will honor. Johana Scot, a dedicated hometown hero, became recognized for helping parents who are about to lose their kids to Children’s Protective Services. Forming an organization, she helped these parents get back on their feet and raise happy, healthy children.
As a former Court Appointed Special Advocate, she was awakened by cases where parents lose their children to Protective Services. This is a remarkable and very noble initiative. While others would rather take the children somewhere else and expect them to live a different life, Scot thinks it is time to unite these families. It was like she wants to get into the core of the problem, which is the parenting. This is how she shone in her local hometown of The Woodlands, and is now hoping to be America’s hometown hero too.
