The First Car: The Volvo OV4 aka Jakob

It has been eighty ago when the first-ever Volvo car, the V4 “Jakob” has rolled out of its factory in Gothenburg, Sweden. To mark this very important occasion as Volvo and its high-quality Volvo auto parts have continually been successful in the industry, Volvo Car UK will be hosting a Marque Day celebration on September 2. all Volvo enthusiasts are welcome to come along with their friends and families to join the festivities which will be held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

For this year, Lynn Bowles, renowned BBC Radio 2 broadcaster will provide the commentary all throughout the day while the visitors were said to watch out for the performances of Abba Arrival and special vehicle displays including a Volvo 120 series cavalcade, organized by the Volvo Owners Club in celebration of the model’s 50th anniversary. The children will be busy with activities such as wall climbing and bouncy castles, plus the much-awaited area where children will be able to enjoy playing with remote control cars and to purchase models that they could decorate themselves.

Party-goers will get the chance to take home the XC90 and experience the feel of the Volvo XC90 parts through a specially-designed all-wheel drive course as well as the opportunity to experience a selection of Volvo’s current models around the circuit. Guests can also take advantage of free access to the newly refurbished Heritage Motor Centre Museum.

The event starts at 10 am until 5 pm, and entry is free for all Volvo drivers and children under five without any registration needed. Non-Volvo drivers and guests can pick up discounted advanced tickets from £8 for adults, £6 for under 16 year olds and £7 for concessions. £2 will be added to each of these prices for tickets purchased on the day.

With all the innovations that Volvo has achieved with its 80 years of car supremacy, it became open to technological advancements as well. It was able to improve its shocks through the Bilstein Shocks, and was also able to incorporate the Hill Descent Control technology by the Land Rover Parts. Through this, we can only say that Volvo will last for another 80 years of car ingenuity.
